About the town

Greensboro, Vermont.

Greensboro is a lake town in southern Orleans County, built around Caspian Lake, a clear lake long loved by summer families. The town also takes in most of Lake Eligo and the village of Greensboro Bend, along with a handful of small crossroads settlements.

Food and drink lovers know Greensboro well. Hill Farmstead Brewery, one of the most celebrated breweries in the country, sits on a hilltop farm in Greensboro Bend, and Jasper Hill Farm makes widely praised cheeses here. The Highland Center for the Arts hosts theater and music, and the Greensboro Historical Society keeps the town's story. Summer is peak season, when the beaches, docks and porches around the lake fill up.
