About the town

Troy, Vermont.

Troy sits in the far north of Orleans County along the Missisquoi River, with farm fields stretching across the valley floor and Quebec just over the border to the north. The town holds two villages: Troy itself and the incorporated village of North Troy, which lies close to the Canadian line.

The river shapes much of what visitors come to see. The red River Road Covered Bridge crosses the Missisquoi here, and Big Falls State Park protects one of the largest undeveloped waterfalls on a major Vermont river, a favorite summer spot for picnics, fishing and sightseeing. Troy makes an easy stop on a loop through the northern Kingdom, with the slopes of Jay Peak a short drive to the west.
