About the town

Peacham, Vermont.

Peacham is a small hill town in southern Caledonia County, where a white steepled church, big red barns and old farmhouses sit on open slopes with long views east toward the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Farm families from southern New England settled here in the 1770s, and Yankee magazine once named it the best village in New England.

Life centers on Peacham Corner, home to the town library and the historical association, and the Fourth of July parade is known for its farm tractors. Autumn is the headline season, with a yearly foliage celebration and back roads lined with blazing maples. Expect a quiet, rural stop rather than a dining hub, and pair a drive here with a meal in a nearby town.
