About the town

East Haven, Vermont.

East Haven is one of the smallest towns in the Northeast Kingdom, a wooded Essex County community of about 270 people strung along Vermont Route 114 north of Burke. There is no real commercial center, just a white church and cemetery by the road, a community building that houses the town office and library, and a cluster of homes.

Most visitors come for the Moose Haven area of the Kingdom Trails network, known for smooth, flowing mountain bike trails. Route 114 through this part of the state is also a known place to spot moose, so drive slowly at dawn and dusk. Nearby Burke and Lyndonville offer more places to eat before or after a ride.
